Founded in 1983, The Music School offers quality musical education for children from ages 12 months through sixth grade.
The school's goal is to provide a solid musical foundation for children in an enjoyable way.
They sing, play instruments, and move to music using rhythmic speech, stories and musical games to explore and learn,
laying the groundwork for continued instrumental and vocal music training. Children from ages 4 to 9 also receive class instruction
in keyboard, music theory, recorder, and flute. ![]()
We base our music teaching on the work of the famed Austrian musician and composer, Carl Orff, whose international fame
comes from his pioneering work in the field of music education. The 'ORFF METHOD' is a way of teaching children
the basic elements of rhythm and melody by means of simple musicical instruments. Xylophones and glockenspiels,
recorders and flutes, drums, and other percussion instruments from all over the world are found in our classrooms, and
children are regularly exposed to world music.![]()

Because we believe that music ennobles human life, and that the life of a child is enhanced
through musical training, our church has undertaken an effort to make this training accessible, even for those who cannot afford it.
Each year we offer scholarships for neighborhood children. ![]()
